Kenya’s National Building Code 2024 replaces a regulatory framework whose origins stretched back decades. Compliance is not only about designing correctly. Project teams need coordinated drawings, calculations, specifications and schedules that clearly demonstrate the intended solution. Construction-stage changes should also be controlled so that approved design intent is not unintentionally compromised.

  • Prepare a multidisciplinary compliance matrix.
  • Review fire, accessibility, structural and building-services requirements together.
  • Resolve departures and specialist approvals before tender where possible.
